Heidi, originally from southwestern Minnesota, graduated from St. Catherine University’s interpreting program in 2009. She then moved to the Des Moines area and has been working as an educational interpreter ever since. She first became a member of ISRID in 2009; however, it wasn’t until 2018 she joined the Board as the Secretary. This is her second term and looks forward to continuing her work with the ISRID Update E-Newsletter, improving the unity of interpreters all over Iowa and between all settings, and strengthening the organization itself by increasing membership and involvement, offering more professional development opportunities, and branding ISRID to be a more established professional organization. Outside of work and volunteering, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, playing with makeup to help women realize their beauty, shopping, playing games with her family, and binge watching her favorite shows and movies.
